(Same as Health Policy M428.) Designed for graduate students. Examination of characteristics of community-based organizations (CBOs) and role of leadership in decision-making process involved in major issues facing maternal and child health in Los Angeles County. Focus on specific leadership competencies that are or should be employed by organizations effective in shaping maternal and child health programs and policies (or any population-level policies and programs). Leaders from CBOs in Los Angeles meet with students, comment on their practicum experiences, and underscore community leadership concepts demonstrated by those CBOs.
