Introduction to foundational knowledge in community health sciences, including core concepts in social determinants of health, health equity, and community-based approaches to public health practice. Topics include social and behavioral determinants of population health; theoretical frameworks for understanding health inequities; cultural humility and community engagement; and evidence-based approaches to health promotion and intervention. Emphasis on practical applications of community health sciences concepts and methods that complement students’ primary fields of public health study.
