Limited to students who are participating members of Jumpstart AmeriCorps literacy program. Service learning course on early childhood development and civic engagement. Overview of child development theory as well as examination of policies and systems that impact practice of preschool education. Discussion about history and future of civic engagement movement designed to engage diverse groups of committed stakeholders in reaching common goal.
