Cultural Representations in Americas

Analysis of Latina/Latino and Latin American fictional and nonfictional narratives and films, with emphasis on gender issues, diasporas, and global transformation. Use of aesthetic and formal analytical perspectives and several conceptual frameworks—cultural studies, postcolonial studies, neoliberalism, intersectionality, and feminist theories. Study of these cultural productions as expression of intersectionalities and differences among Latina/Latino and Latin American cultural workers, as well as among diverse populations and changing experiences their works refer to.
