International human rights laws in North, Central, and South America and U.S. foreign policy in context of historical, political, social, and legal issues and court decisions involving U.S. and its role and relations with governments and institutions. Historical and contemporary development of regional and international law, institutions, law, and norms related to promotion and protection of human rights.
