Introduction to structural behavior and structural statics. Operations with forces and factors, both algebraically and graphically. Equilibrium of force systems; polygon of forces and funicular polygon. Internal actions; axial force and bending moment. Reactions, stability, and statical determinacy. Determinate frames. Plane trusses; analysis and design.
