Modern Analytical Methods in Chemistry

Introduction to fundamental principles and applied aspects of using holistic tools to interrogate matter at various length-scales. Covers essential technologies and concepts practiced in small molecule, materials, and biomaterials-based research. Emphasis on fundamentals and advantages/limitations of techniques. Students participate in a boot camp for synthetic methods, organic chemistry, and common laboratory techniques. Covers basic synthetic methods and introductory laboratory experiments to help familiarize students with synthetic methods and product analysis. Introduction to modern analytical methods in chemistry which have relevance to academic and industrial research.
