Introduction to theories and methods of field-based linguistic anthropology and visual anthropology. Students gain experience in conducting visual anthropological research and in presenting their work in linguo-visual framework. Presentation of finished filmic product. Emphasis on collection and analysis of language in use, with focus on videorecording naturally-occurring dialogic or multiparty conversations, and on analyzing phenomena occurring within these conversations.
