Examination of prehistory of American Southwest from 11,000 years ago to historic times. Emphasis on describing and explaining cultural variation and change, employing evolutionary perspective. Special attention to advent of farming and settled towns, large-scale interactive networks, abandonment of Four Corners area, and historic cultures.
