Ethnic Politics: African American Politics

(Same as Political Science M182.) Designed for juniors/seniors. Emphasis on dynamics of minority group politics in U.S., touching on conditions facing racial and ethnic groups, with black Americans being primary case for analysis. Three primary objectives: (1) to provide descriptive information about social, political, and economic conditions of black community, (2) to analyze important political issues facing black Americans, (3) to sharpen students’ analytical skills.
