Survey of Black Studies Research: Themes, Issues, and Concepts

Exploration of selected theoretical constructs, conceptual frameworks, and methodological approaches in discipline of African American studies. Interrogation of some of more significant debates in field as students consider how to engage and utilize these ideas—and epistemological debates around them—in their own work. Students think critically about different forms of intellectual production and scholastic inquiry in field that is now quite broad and interdisciplinary.
