Development of fundamental understanding of climate science. Topics include global energy balance, atmospheric radiation and greenhouse effect, surface and boundary layer dynamics, atmospheric and oceanic circulation, global hydrologic cycle, modes of climate sensitivity, climate modeling, and climate change.
