Ocean Change in the Anthropocene
Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences · 4 units · Undergraduate upper division (100-199)
Lecture, 90 minutes; laboratory, 90 minutes. Review of main impacts of human activities on ocean, from warming and acidification to overfishing, pollution, and exploitation of marine resources. Discussion of concepts of governance and sustainability. Introduction to global ocean datasets and IPCC-class model output. Student-led presentation to review significant papers from scientific literature.
